In 1955 the Desert Shores Community Services District was Chartered by the state of CA for articles A through H of Section 61601 of the State Government. In 1957 the Salton City area was annexed to that District and the name was changed to Salton Community Services District rather than going through the process of forming a whole new District.
Facilities
The District Provides Sewer for Desert Shores, part of Vista Del Mar, and all of Salton City. SCSD has 3 Wastewater Treatment Facilities:
Desert Shores Treatment Facility
Lansing Treatment Facility
TRC Treatment Facility.
Hundreds of miles of sewer lines which include pressure and gravity lines, manholes, lift and pump stations that are manned and monitored 365 days a year 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Salton Community Services District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
